The Blue Star Skills Academy has been created to give you, the up and coming premier athlete, an opportunity to learn advanced offensive skill sets in a competitive environment with national-level instructors in an invitational setting.

With all the various levels of play and basketball abilities that we encounter in evaluating players for the Blue Star Report, the nation’s longest running Player Evaluation & Ranking service in women’s basketball, it is important for today’s athlete to get that extra edge and information feedback on elite offensive skills to separate themselves from the pack.

Competition is the name of the game when it comes to player rankings, position rankings, selection for various elite travel teams, invitations for national team tryouts and eventually post-season All-America game. We created the Blue Star Skills Academy to give you, that special athlete, the opportunity to be evaluated and to learn new skills sets or sharpen the ones you already have.

This invitation is not for everyone. The Blue Star Skills Academy is a select group of players that the Blue Star Media staff, the Blue Star Report Evaluators and selected elite travel team directors are asked to contribute player names. Those top players who have attended Rising Blue Star Events or those who’ve had the honor of being a Blue Star 30 will be invited to attend this Academy.

Blue Star Skills Academy Instruction

The Blue Star Skills Academy will focus on the more important aspects of the game – offensive scoring. We break down this section of basketball into spacing, footwork, dribble-shot form and reading and reacting to screens.

These are building block aspects to the Blue Star Basketball development model that has been created over the past 40 years. Blue Star Basketball Camps ruled the landscape of the sport prior to the age of games-only Travel Basketball. With the competition for scholarships and recognition we feel these skill sets are the next focus for all players who’ve attended the Rising Blue Star Regional Events.

This full-day program will cover all aspects of offense strategy and setup and this will be delivered by our national staff that is headed by Blue Star 30 Camp instructors Teri Morrison (former-South Carroll TX) and Mary Klinger (Rutgers Prep, NJ) girls basketball coaches.
